Computer Glasses

What ARE computer glasses? Can’t you use any glasses on your computer? Depending upon your age, this could be a trick question.

Once we reach our late 40s, our natural range of focus moves further towards our arms’ length- and beyond. During this time, reading glasses, bifocals, and progressive lenses become valuable to restore crisp vision within arms’ reach. But, if you’ve ever worn a bifocal or progressive at a computer, you know it can turn into a pain in the neck!

Computer glasses provide clear vision across the lens so that you can stop tipping your chin up, leaning in, and getting a stiff neck. Our doctors prescribe a lens design based upon the distance to your screen(s), how mobile you are at work, and your eyes’ natural range of focus. To decrease the harsh illumination that causes strain, tired eyes, and difficulty sleeping, lenses can be made with blue-blocking non-glare treatment.

Stop straining your eyes and neck at work and schedule your annual eye exam at Rainier Eye today!

The LCTA Remembers Jack State

The LCTA and Chehalis community recently lost a beloved member. Legendary 6’8” Jack State. For five decades, Jack poured his heart and soul into the sport of tennis, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. As a coach, his wisdom, patience, and passion inspired generations of athletes to reach their full potential on and off the court. Jack wasn’t just a tennis coach; he was a mentor, a friend, and a beacon of positivity. His infectious enthusiasm for the game was matched only by his unwavering commitment to nurturing the talents of those under his guidance. Jack was equally as excited about his players’ tennis skills as he was about their academic achievements. Jack’s legacy extends far beyond the tennis courts, it is woven into the fabric of our community through the countless friendships and memories he created. Over the last few years Jack was on a mission to support future generations of tennis enthusiasts by bringing an indoor tennis facility to our area. He was a driving force on the Lewis County Tennis Association. Over the past year Jack was actively engaged in contacting former tennis players and W.F. West alumni to spread the word and garner support for the project. As you can imagine, as a former basketball coach, and tennis coach of 50+ years, the list was quite extensive! Many of these people had kept in contact with Jack over the years. It is a testament to the man he was to know so many people still talked to him regularly and still remembered the impact he’d had on them as a coach. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Jack was better for it and our organization certainly wouldn’t be what it is without his tireless efforts. Having indoor tennis courts was Jack’s dream and although he won’t be here to see it, we are more determined than ever to see his dream become a reality. In honor of Jack, his family is asking for your support of the Lewis County Regional Tennis & Wrestling Facility. The LCTA would like to extend our deepest sympathy and gratitude to Jack’s family. We are honored to have their support on this ambitious project.
