W.F. West High School

W.F. West High School students were fortunate to have outstanding speakers share information about career pathways in the growing field of aviation. Students also learned about emerging technologies in such areas as drones, electric aircraft and urban air mobility.

Thank you to Brandon Rakes, Airport Operations Coordinator for the Chehalis-Centralia Airport, and David Fleckenstein, Director of the Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation Division, for sharing their expertise with students.

This event also highlighted a new Aviation class that planned for the 2019-20 school year.

The event was part of the Student Achievement Initiative with a Career and College Readiness focus. Chehalis School District’s goal is for graduates be career prepared and successfully obtain a meaningful certificate or college degree post-graduation. Aware, eligible and prepared = ready.
