Although Evexia Nutrition and Wellness only opened in 2022, owners Barbara Hooper (BSN, RN) and Jennifer Brown (MSN, ARNP, FNP-C) have quickly found success with the wellness center. Hooper and Brown, formerly two ER nurses, ventured to open Evexia after the COVID-19 pandemic. They recognized the need for alternative healthcare in the Lewis County area, as Evexia was, at the time, the only place offering IV vitamin infusions from Olympia to Portland.

Driven by their respective passions for providing access to IV infusions and hormone therapy, Hooper and Brown started Evexia, but the business quickly evolved into more. “Weight management just came around and skyrocketed… We moved [to our new location] because we outgrew that first space within a year,” Hooper said. Evexia now provides multiple holistic wellness services in addition to aesthetic services like dermal fillers, Botox, and Sculptra.

“We also have a Halo booth, which is red light therapy and salt infusion therapy. So that’s really good for skin conditions, asthma, allergies, that kind of stuff,” said Brown. Even though Evexia has expanded its wellness services, it continues to offer hormone replacement therapy and IV infusions. Evexia provides bioidentical hormone replacement to both men and women based on their symptoms, which usually start around age forty.

Additionally, Evexia offers IV vitamin infusions to individuals with a variety of health concerns, from cancer patients to teachers trying to keep their immune systems healthy during the school year. “We work with a couple different oncologists that send patients to us for Vitamin C infusions,” Brown said.

Among the innovative treatments Evexia offers, perhaps the most exciting new addition is their PNOE machine. The PNOE conducts metabolic breath testing and can provide a plethora of information about the patient. “Within 24 hours, we get a whole report that’ll tell us your metabolic health, including your biological age versus your chronological age. It will tell us your heart health and cardiovascular risk factors. It’ll tell your lung health. It’s really cool. It’s almost more accurate than DNA testing,” said Brown.

The PNOE can also help to build a nutrition plan based on the metabolic testing, with the ability to get as specific as how many calories a person should consume on the days they exercise versus the days they don’t. Outside of the University of Washington and Oregon Health & Science University, Evexia is the only practice they are aware of within the area with a PNOE machine. Evexia hopes to roll out testing with the PNOE this month (November). To learn more, visit evexianw.com.

As for the future of Evexia, Hooper and Brown have high hopes. As Hooper explained, “[We want to] continue helping the community, offering alternatives, and really looking at longevity for people and living healthier, longer lives.”
