Owl and Olive

Country Venue

For those looking for a country setting and classic barn, Owl and Olive offers the simplicity and beauty of a farm venue. Owl and Olive is set against the backdrop of the Willapa Hills and hugs the bank of the upper Chehalis River. The Willapa Hills Trail, which extends 56 miles from Chehalis to South Bend, also runs alongside the farm. While Owl and Olive has become a popular location for weddings, the outdoor spaces combined with the barn and the more intimate café setting create a unique venue that can serve a variety of events. Owners Stephen and Amy Hueffed have hosted corporate events, art shows, equestrian events, marathons, and in recent years the well-known Ride the Willapa cycling event while the highway 6 overpass was constructed.. The opportunities are boundless with its location and proximity to the trail, river, and nearby towns of Olympia (45 minutes away) and Chehalis/Centralia (about thirty minutes away).

Wedding packages are designed to be all inclusive of use of the property, tables, chairs — and for those doing two-day events — use of their linens and other banquet equipment. Each package offers generous hourly use (up to fifteen hours) and there are no restrictions regarding the choice of caterers.

The Owl and Olive had a popular café for a time. While the café is no longer in operation, the cafe space is available as a second indoor gathering space that can accommodate small groups in an intimate setting.

The barn can seat over 150 guests banquet style and there are many opportunities for configuration of a ceremony, formal sit-down dinner, and lounge.

There are three primary outdoor spaces including a garden area, a tree-lined lower field that offers as much room and square footage as the barn, and a lower riverfront outdoor space.

In addition, there is a field that offers room for larger events that may want space for vendor tents, animal pens, or dry camping. In recent years the Hueffeds installed a nearby stylish outdoor restroom to accommodate events of all sizes.
